What is the meal ministry?
The meal ministry provides short term meal support to those going through tough times or recovering from surgery.
Who can be a meal minister?
Anyone who wants to help others in a pinch by cooking and delivering a meal on an agreed upon day with the meal receiver.
What is expected?
WILLING TO BE CALLED UPON and respond to requests as your schedule permits. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO FULFILL ALL REQUESTS FOR MEALS.
What is the transportation ministry?
The transportation ministry provides short term ride assistance to those who have travel needs. This may include doctor visits, grocery store, to surgery, etc… WE DO NOT GIVE RIDES HOME FROM SURGERY.
Who can be a transportation minister?
Anyone who has a car and has been trained through St. Francis Cares. Their training includes Safeguarding God’s People, confidentiality, boundaries and active listening.
What is expected?
Have a car and willing to be called upon to provide a ride. Complete simple training with clergy. BY VOLUNTEERING YOU ARE NOT SIGNING UP TO FULFILL ALL RIDE REQUEST.
What is the flower ministry?
The flower ministry takes the flowers from the altar and breaks them down into arrangements that can be delivered to church members for various reasons and occasions.
Who can be a flower minister?
Anyone who has a car and is willing to deliver flowers to people’s homes. This is very similar to UPS or Fedex in the sense that you drop the flowers off, ring the doorbell, and say hello and go. No long visits!
What is expected?
Willing to be scheduled one Monday a month to deliver flowers to a certain part of our geographical region. You will have an opportunity to state places you are not willing to drive as the schedule is made.
What is the cards and note ministry?
The card and note ministry is a support ministry that sends notes of support, joy, and prayer to those who are celebrating or struggling with moments in life.
Who can be a minister?
Anyone!! If you like to pray and write then this is a ministry for you as it is completely done at home. These volunteers do not require any other skill than a prayerful heart and decent penmanship…so not Fr. Justin!
What is expected?
Respond to requests to fulfill cards and notes for church members as they are sent to you. IF YOUR SCHEDULE DOES NOT PERMIT THEN YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RESPOND!
What is the prayer ministry?
The prayer ministry is spearheaded by our Daughters of the King chapter who maintain a robust prayer list for the entire parish. Over the next several months we will be consolidating our many different prayer lists into one. The prayer ministry is an effort to pray daily for those in need in our parish and community.
Who can serve on the prayer minsitry?
Anyone who wants to seriously maintain confidentiality and pray daily for the needs that are sent to them each week.
What is expected?
Check your email weekly and pray for those on the list daily.
What is Lay Eucharistic Visitation?
Lay Eucharistic Visitation is a ministry that brings the sacrament from the altar (usually on Sundays) to those who are homebound or in a position where they cannot attend church.
Who can be a visitor?
This is open to all baptized persons who are willing to be trained in confidentiality, active listening, and boundaries. They also have to complete Safeguarding God’s People training to fulfill the Diocese of Florida requirements.
What is expected?
You will be scheduled once every 4 to 6 weeks to take communion to people in need. In an emergency, you may also be called upon to take communion to a care receiver on a specific day of the week; of course DEPENDING ON YOUR AVAILABILITY.
