Jesus is Our Focus

When they saw the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Matthew 2:10-11

During this Christmas season, let us focus on the birth of our Savior. It is so easy to get caught up in the frenzy, but instead, let’s bring our attention fully on Jesus. Let’s be sure to make this holiday a time when we joyfully bring our gifts to Him:

·       Worshiping in the morning

·       Singing praises on our way to work, school, or activities

·       Praying throughout the day

·       Sharing Bible verses with our family and friends

·       Giggling with girlfriends over tea

·       Decorating cookies as a family

·       Writing that special note of gratitude

·       Attending church faithfully

·       Sharing our bounty with those in need

Our Father has bestowed upon us so many beautiful gifts. Let’s make certain we use them to celebrate our love for Him. Let’s do everything this Christmas season with our Savior as our focus. Let’s be determined and diligent as we plan our activities and schedule our calendar. Let’s make sure that He is the Light of our Christmas season and that we give Him all of our attention!

Heavenly Father, You are Almighty God, our Savior, our King! May we not lose sight of who you are and what you mean to us-especially during this season. May we be sensitive to your gentle touch, your loving embrace, and be still as we focus on You. In your most Holy Name, we pray. Amen
